Moose Horn Lodge is 10 miles from the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve which is the biggest game preserve in the world. Our location is called the Black Bear Capital due to our area having the most dense population of Black Bears in the world.
Our 2007 fall bear hunt success rate was 94% with a 241% sighting rate. Our success rate is more than three times the provincial average of 30%. This is why Moose Horn Lodge is well known all over North America. Black Bears in our area average anywhere between 150 and 300 pounds due to the abundance of food, wilderness location and the conservation management of Moose Horn Lodge. Go to Bear Hunt Details.
